Use on manually operated drilling and milling machines and selected drill units. Self feed enables tap to be its own lead screw, allowing even inexperienced operators to produce gage perfect threads. Accurately maintain thread depth repeatability. Pre-selective torque drive has spring loaded ball-detent clutch tha fully adjusts material and tap size and prevents tap breakage. Clutch is impervious to oil or grease contamination and maintains consistent torque repeatability through highest production runs. Clutch design is intended as a safety device only. A machine stop should be set to release in neutral before bottoming whenever possible. With 1.75 x 1 reverse ratio, tap retracts from hole 75 percent faster than entry, greatly increasing production. Do right or left hand tapping without modification. Cushioned drive eliminates cross threading. Re-enter hole as many times as necessary and still maintain a gage perfect thread.
