| Made of tempered alloy steel for proper boring rigidity. Chipbreaker feature of bar breaks chip into small tight rolls, thus eliminating winding of long stringy chips around tool and clogging of work area. Cartridges are hardened to 60-64 Rockwell, and ground to +.0005 accuracy to assure proper seating of cutting insert. Cutting inserts can be indexed or replaced without loss of hole size or depth, saving operator down-time in grinding and resetting bore size & depth when cutting edge is dull. Flat sides on bar can be mounted in square lathe turrets or in round holes providing three point suspension for maximum rigidity. Adequate clearance is provided behind cutting edge to eliminate chip interference between boring tool and side of tool. Cutting inserts are standard blanks and may be purchased in any grade desired. Clamp screw is located under bar to eliminate chips from clogging screw head. All bars complete with one cartridge, one clamp, one chipbreaker, one cartridge shim, and one cutting insert. All bars use 3/8 inner circle triangle inserts. Made in USA. |
