| CPM tungsten vanadium high speed steel taps. Plug type (3-5 threads). The spiral point forces the chips ahead of the tap, thereby preventing clogging and recutting of chips. Long holes, in excess of 1-1/2 inches diameter, can be tapped as a result.
The geometry of these taps is specifically designed for difficult to machine materials, and they are manufactured from a premium grade of vanadium high speed steel. The neck allows for less drag, additional chip space and increased coolant flow into the hole. |
