A serrated gripper or rest pad in the Ball Unit snaps into an adjustable or fixed housing that contains an O-ring. The O-ring retains the ball, facilitates swivel action and keeps contaminants out to ensure smooth movement.
There are no angles to figure out. You just put the Ball Unit into position, and it self-aligns (minimum 10 degrees) to the workpiece's irregularity.
A complete Ball Unit assembly consists of a heat treated stainless steel ball with a pocket area to accept replaceable grippers or a rest pad made of hardened steel or Delrin, and a socket head cap screw to hold the gripper in place. The housing is heat treated alloy steel. |
